This year the topic of the special focus session was "Roadmapping". The following items were discussed:

ITEA Technology Roadmap for Software-Intensive Systems, edition 2
ITEA released end of May 2004 the 2nd edition of its Technology Roadmap for Software-Intensive Systems. This updated, enlarged report succeeds the 1st edition (published in March 2001), which has been widely recognised as a landmark document in the field of software-intensive systems. The second edition covers the period from today to 2010 and onwards.

MEDEA+ Applications Technology Roadmap (ATRM)
This roadmap focuses on the ways and means to fulfil end-user needs in 2012 from an applications perspective. The ATRM covers the time scale until 2012. The technologies as described in the document, should be far enough developped to enable mass production at the time.

European Commission: Information Society Technologies (IST), Embedded Systems Unit
The Embedded Systems Unit has developed a roadmap for Advanced Real Time Systems (ARTIST) for embedded software and systems. The work is carried out by top European researchers, with the participation of high-level technical experts from major industrial partners, and high-technology SMEs in the area.

Réseau National des Technologies Logicielles (RNTL)
The French national network programme on software technologies published a "Livre Blanc" which analyses the main results reached from projects processed during the last period, which will be used as a solid ground for future R&D activities in the software technologies.
