Jean-Pierre Lacotte is Director for European Advanced Projects Coordination at THOMSON R&I.

He started his career at THOMSON in 1969 as a Research Engineer. In 1979 he switched from research to development.

Since January 2003 he is Vice-Chairman of the ITEA Board.

1979 THOMSON Radio & Television Division, Deputy Director Videodisc Dept in charge of development programme
1983 Seconded to the French Administration of Parc de la Villette in Paris, to create the Audiovisual service in charge of the definition, design and implementation of the audiovisual equipments for the passive and interactive pr esentations of the Sciences and Industry Museum including “La Géode, the Omnimax theatre”
